“The Power of a Woman’s Words” by Sharon Jaynes is life-changing.  She stepped on my toes so many times in this book, but this book challenged me to do so much better in my speech.  I think a great non-fiction book is one that challenges you to take what is written and actually incorporate them into your life.  This book did that for me.

This book is split into three sections:  the power we possess, the people we impact and the purposeful pursuit of taming the tongue.  Each section has sub-chapters and goes more into depth.  Sharon Jaynes uses real life examples and stories/sections of the Bible.  I have highlighted many parts of my book, but I think the quote that really hit home with me was, “Oftentimes, the most powerful words of a woman are the ones she will never speak.” (p. 209).  Wow!  This really hit home with me.  It made me realize that sometimes I need to just listen instead of speaking.

I highly recommend this book to every woman out there.  Whether we are doing well with our words or not, this book would benefit every woman out there.

I received this book from the author for my honest opinion.
